Where are you From?
I grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan with my parents, sister, and two brothers. I went to college just 15 minutes away in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. There, I studied theater performance and Italian. Since then, I have lived in New York City, Vermont, North Carolina, and now Chicago.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I have enjoyed traveling throughout France and Italy as a college student and working as a chaperone for high school cultural exchange programs. I love learning about new cultures and languages. I would gladly travel anywhere in the world - just give me the ticket!
What is one book that everyone must read?
Everyone should read How to Lose Your Friends by Nancy Carlson. It uses humor to teach an important lesson of how to be a good friend. If you haven't read it yet, check it out!
Who was your favorite teacher growing up?
I loved my second grade teacher Miss Hatta. She showed each one of her students love and made us all feel special. I can still remember some of the things we did in her class that made me look forward to coming to school, like listening to her read books by C.S. Lewis, making our own books, and performing class plays
What do you like most about Goudy?
Though I am new to Goudy, I get the sense it is a special place. There is a strong feeling of community that I immediately felt during my first visit. I'm thrilled to join the Goudy family and get to know my students, their families, and my colleagues this year.
