Where are you From?
I was born and raised in Mexico City. I immigrated to the united states in 2001. I lived in a small, historic town called Woodstock, which is located in northwest Illinois. I have lived in Chicago for the past 5 years and I absolutely love the city!
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to travel through Europe. The first country I would like to visit is Italy, because of all the amazing pieces of art that one can see there. I am a huge fan of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, an Italian architect and sculptor from the late 1500's. His sculptures are stunning and very realistic. I cannot wait to set foot in Italy so I can admire them.
What is one book that everyone must read?
Everyone must read "Oh the Places You'll go" by Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss is the master at word play, and I have found that children and adults enjoy reading this book.
Who was your favorite teacher growing up?
My favorite teacher growing up was Mrs. Bauer. She taught Sophomore English in high school. When I met Mrs. Bauer, I spoke very little English and she spoke very little Spanish, but she always went out of her way to help me achieve my goals. She was very sweet and caring, and she never gave up on me. She has a very special place in my heart.
What do you like most about Goudy?
Goudy is a place where many different cultures come together. This is a great place to teach children to celebrate and cherish their uniqueness, and to learn about the culture's of others around them.
